Unearthed

Between the River and the City

Artefacts from Sheffield Castle at Wessex Archaeology's conservation studio

At Wessex Archaeology's conservation studio

Between the River and the City is a new body of work developed in collaboration with Wessex Archaeology and informed by artefacts recovered during the recent excavations at Sheffield Castle.

Working alongside archaeologists, archivists and conservation specialists, the project explores how contemporary art can engage with archaeological objects, archives and ideas of place. Through painting, the work investigates relationships between material, memory and landscape.

The project is currently in development.
